On 15 April 2022, Cornelius Omuse the Founder and CEO of AG-AFRICA led the Board of Directors and staff of Adopt A Generation Africa in launching Mavuno Shambani Initiative at Acunet Stadium, Malaba,Teso North Constituency. Farmers received free seeds and training to kickstart a six-year modern farming practice that will undergo thorough monitoring and evaluation. Mavuno Shambani Initiative opens a new chapter in curbing hunger and poverty and promoting sustainable nutrition for families. The program also aims to encourage climate action and entrepreneurship. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the initiative and fully committed to working hand in hand with AG-AFRICA and partners to successfully implement the initiative.
Hundreds of small-scale farmers drawn from Ang'urai East Ward, Ang'urai North and South on 16th april 2022 converged at Kawalun Primary School to receive training and free beans and maize seeds that are drought resistant from Adopt A Generation Africa.
It was great hearing the grievances of the farmers, suggestions and feedback on how to fully engage in productive farming as a way of alleviating poverty, promoting environmental conservation, tackling climate change and combating hunger.
